CHELSEA star Eden Hazard wants to move to Real Madrid to
leapfrog the ageing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and become the best
footballer in the world.
Hazard has made it clear he wants to join Los Blancos during his
career, describing it as his ‘childhood dream’.
The Belgian was rumoured to
be chasing the transfer in the summer, following a highly impressive World Cup.
Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper and
national team-mate Thibaut Courtois did make the move to the La Liga club this
summer, calling on Hazard to join him.
Hazard stayed with the west London side though, and has started
the season in exceptional form, currently sitting as the Premier League’s top
goalscorer having netted seven times already this term.
But the 27-year-old’s future
at Stamford Bridge remains in the balance as talk of a move to the Santiago
Bernabau continues to linger.
And ex-Premier League
full-back Rosenior has defended Hazard’s standpoint over the move, questioning
what the winger has left to achieve in the Premier League.
“You only have one career and
my career flew by way too quickly,” Rosenior said.
“Listen, he’s an absolutely world-class footballer, world-class
footballer.
“He’s taken it to a new level
for me this season, his performances.
“For Chelsea fans it’s a real
shame if he does want to leave.
“But at the same time looking
at it from his perspective, I completely understand.
“I think if you’re Eden Hazard right now you’re saying ‘what’s
next for me at Chelsea?’.
“‘I’ve won the Premier
League, I’ve done incredible things at this club’.
Hazard’s inspired recent
performances have earned him comparisons with the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and
Neymar.
And Rosenior believes he is
already better than the latter, and could become the world’s greatest with
Messi and Ronaldo both into their thirties.
Rosenior continued: “Messi’s getting older, Ronaldo’s getting
older, ‘I want to be the next one. I want to be seen in that light’.
“If I’m comparing his
performances recently to say Neymar, I know who I’m taking in my team every
week and it’s Eden Hazard.
“I completely understand why
he wants to go from that level, to that level.”
